Goods are sold "voetstoots" (as-is). Every item and service on SwopIt is offered as-is, with all faults. The condition, quality, legality, and ownership of anything traded is the sole responsibility of the two members involved — never SwopIt, its owners, or employees.

You trade entirely at your own risk. SwopIt is a noticeboard that connects people. We are not a party to any deal and accept no liability for any loss, theft, fraud, injury, or damage — in cash, goods, or anything else — arising before, during, or after a swap.

What you give in a swap is an exchange, not a loan. Once you hand something over in a completed swap, it's gone — you're not lending it and have no automatic right to get it back.

Stay safe: meet in a public place, in daylight, ideally with security nearby. Bring someone with you. Inspect the item and confirm proof before you hand anything over. Never pay or hand over goods without seeing what you're getting first. Never move money or goods outside what you've agreed face-to-face.

Strictly prohibited: no drugs, alcohol, weapons, stolen or counterfeit goods, and absolutely nothing connected to human trafficking or exploitation. These are reported to the authorities.
